Signed MOU for AI-based shipbuilding and marine process management efficiency system development
On September 14th, MOU was concluded at the Daehan Shipbuilding's 1 factory to improve the efficiency of shipbuilding and marine process management based on AI. According to the agreement, the company, the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, and Team Solutions will cooperate to develop an efficient management system for shipbuilding and marine processes based on AI.
The AI-based shipbuilding and marine process management efficiency system enables to figure process progress by installing AI cameras on-site and connecting them with the design and block arrangement system.
And It enables to prevent safety accidents by identifying safety hazards such as scaffolding and gas leakage.
In addition, KPI indicators can be automatically calculated based on the data stored in the system. And it is expected that each production department and subcontractor can strengthen their capabilities through performance sharing.
The system development is part of the core technology development project of the shipbuilding and marine industry under the supervision of the Ministry of Commerce, Industry, Trade and Energy, Team Solution.
Team Solution develops digital twin solutions specializing in heavy industry and has a track record of providing process-related systems to large shipyards such as Hyundai Heavy Industries.
The collaboration will be held from July 2021 to December 2022, and AI cameras will be installed to 43Bay middle construction from October this year.
Jeong Sang-Chae, production director at the MOU, said, "If we maintain the current situation without challenging ourselves, we are going to unavoidable retrogress. For Daehan Shipbuilding to gain greater competitiveness, the processing system needs to be smartened."
He added, "This cooperation is a turning point for a more developed process system, and I hope it will contribute to solving the shortage problem of human resources in the shipbuilding."
