Yeongam-gun delivers non-smoking funds to people who successfully stop smoking
Yeongam-gun has run a service-like fund to reduce the smoking rate of office workers and protect non-smokers in the workplace, with two companies are in Yeongam, for three years since 2015. Its name is “Making CLEAN Yeongam”
This year, 150 employees of Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries and four employees of Daehan Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. joined the fund to raise 100,000 won per person. It contains a participation fee is 30000 won and 50000 won for each company’s employees, company’s support fund, and governmental’s support fund.
Fund was managed by allocating funds to the participant who success to stop smoking for six months.
If it success or failure is decided by performing a carbon monoxide check and nicotine urine check.
Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries Co., Ltd. has 63 out of 150 employees who quit smoking for six months, and Daehan Shipbuilding Co., Ltd has 2 out of 4 employees.
Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries Co., Ltd., and Daehan Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. provided a set of anti-smoking souvenirs and chopsticks prepared by the health center on May 5 and 6.
