[2018.05.04] Delivery of Daehan Shipbuilding and Fisheries Guidance Ship for Illegal Fishing of Chinese Fishing Boats

[2018.05.04.] Delivery of Daehan Shipbuilding and Fisheries Guidance Ship for Illegal Fishing of Chinese Fishing Boats

Daehan Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. (Haenam, Jeollanam-do) announced on May 4 that it has delivered the 1,470-ton fishing guide ship Mugunghwa No.15 ordered by the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (Mugunghwa No.15).

Mugunghwa No.15 was the first of the four national fishing boats (1500 tons and 1470 tons) ordered by the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries last January.

It is 79.7m long, 13m wide and 7.4m high, and is equipped with two 2720kW engines.

It can sail for 20 days (16 hours a day) (approximately 9,445 kilometers) without an additional fuel supply.

Mugunghwa No.15 is responsible for preventing illegal fishing of Chinese fishing boats and establishing fishing order in the exclusive economic zone (EEZ) in the West Sea.

Park Young-Deok, CEO of the company, said, "With the successful delivery of the fishing boat, we will expand our business area not only to the fishing boat but also to internship and patrol boat."

Daehan Shipbuilding, which uses Aframax-grade oil carriers as its main product, has the highest competition rate in the field over the past three years.

Daehan Shipbuilding has secured supplies by the second half of 2019 and is recognized as a small but substantial shipyard among medium-sized shipyards.
