Daehan Shipbuilding Co Completes Development of Environmentally Friendly LNG Fuel Engine Ship Technology

 

 

 

Daehan Shipbuilding Co has completed the technology development of eco-friendly LNG fuel propulsion ships and obtained practical certification from Norwegian DNV GL Maritime.

 

Daehan Shipbuilding Co announced on July 21 that Park Young-Deok, CEO of Daehan Shipbuilding Co, and Vidar Dolonen, CEO of and obtained practical certification from Norwegian DNV GL Maritime, met in Busan on July 14 and promised cooperation to establish and develop the LNG fuel propulsion ship business.

 

Daehan Shipbuilding Co's LNG technology has the advantage of preventing harmful substances such as SOx, NOx, and carbon dioxide. And It makes Daehan Shipbuilding Co follow International Maritime Organization (IMO)'s environmental regulations.

 

Daehan Shipbuilding Co has been conducting research and development on eco-friendly ship technology that can be applied to its main ships, Aframax and Suezmax. It has also worked continuously with DNV GL Maritime for technical certification.

 

Park Young-Deok, CEO of Daehan Shipbuilding Co, said, "We will continue to make efforts to develop eco-friendly fuel propulsion ships," adding, "We hope that Daehan Shipbuilding Co will become a more reliable shipyard in terms of technology."
