Daehan Shipbuilding Holds 100 Placement Launching Ceremony in 14 Years of Foundation

Daehan Shipbuilding Holds 100 Placement Launching Ceremony in 14 Years of Foundation

"A 100-year enterprise leap forward with changes and challenges beyond 100 positions"

Korean Shipbuilding (CEO Jeong Dae-sung) announced on January 18 that it held a ceremony to celebrate the launch of the 100th deployment at the 1st dock gate of Haenam Shipyard (Hwaen-myeon, Haenam-gun, Jeollanam-do).

Due to the spread of Corona 19, only Daehan shipbuilding CEO Chung Dae-sung, union representatives, chairman of the Cooperating Companies Council, shipowners, and classification officials attended the launching ceremony.

Launching is the first time a newly built ship is floated on the water, and a launching ceremony is a celebration of the birth of the ship.

Daehan Shipbuilding overcame the company's business environment crisis for 14 years since its foundation in 2007 and has entered the "100-positioned ship launch."

The ship, which has been under construction since May 2020, is an Aframax-class oil tanker with a length of 249 meters, a width of 44 meters, and a depth of 21 meters. It will be delivered to the final shipping company in April after a trial run.

Representative Director Chung Dae-sung said, "We sincerely appreciate the efforts of our employees and family members who have overcome difficulties with a single dock system, and we hope that the company will grow into a world-renowned, sustainable company starting with this 100-year launch ceremony."

Starting with the launch ceremony, Daehan Shipbuilding will make every effort to strengthen its portfolio's capacity by non-face-to-face orders, develop environmentally friendly technologies, and build high-value-added vessels.
